How hard work can help you accomplish your goals

In my book it shows how if you work hard that you can accomplish your goals that you set for yourself.  The main character in the book Michael is a great example of this because his goal is to be able to play football in college and it isn't easy, but he works hard and is able to accomplish this because of working hard and being committed.  You can do this to if you really work hard and you are committed.

Characters

The book that I chose is The Blindside.  I will be talking about how the character of Michael develops throughout the story.  At the beginning of the story he is a shy and lonely, and he also doesn't have a family or a roof over his head of even a place to sleep.  But as the story continues he becomes more friendly, caring, and outgoing.  He has a family that he loves and he is very successful.  He also becomes a football player and becomes very successful.  By the end of the book he becomes a completely different and is an inspiration to many people.      

Michael Oher a super bowl champion!

Michael Oher is a member of the Baltimore Ravens.  He plays offensive tackle, and is number 74.  This past NFL season he was a part of a super bowl championship team.  I think that it is very special since he went from having almost nothing to playing in the NFL, and winning a super bowl.  Congratulations on a great Season Michael I hope you can do it again.

Analysis

In this book the it explicitly says that Michael's adopted family has a lot of money.  The quote that I choose I about Michael's adopted father Sean Tuohy.  "Now, by the fall of 2002, he'd become, by just about every way they measured it in Memphis, a success. He'd been born again, and helped to create one of the fastest growing evangelical churches in Memphis, the grace evangelical church.  He married the Ole Miss cheerleader who, twenty-five years later, could still pass as an Ole Miss cheerleader.  He owned a chain of eighty-five Taco bells, KFCs, and long john silvers... If everything broke right, he might soon be worth as much as $50 million" (Lewis 65).  From this quote I can infer that because Michael's family has this much money that they can afford to give him all the tools that he needs to be successful academically and at football.    

My new book the Blindside

I just started reading a new book called the Blindside by Michael Lewis.  So far what I have read is great.  I think that I will really enjoy this book because I love football it is my favorite sport and this book is about football.  The thing that I am most excited for is that I think I will be able to make lots of connections because I play football and so does Michael (the main character).

Reading skills

The book I am reading is the Blindside by Michael Lewis.  Some predictions I have is that the Tuohy family will take michael in and he will have a much better life than he had before he meant theme.  Another prediction is that Michael will become a very successful football player because he is big fast and strong.  The last prediction I have is that the road for Michael will not be easy.  One question I have is how big is Michael exactly.  Another question I have is will Michael get a second chance with the Tuohy family.  One Text to world connection is that a lot of people watch football because it is a very popular sport and Michael plays football.  One text to text connection is I read the book Farve by Brett Farve which is about football.  One text to self connection is I play football and Michael plays football too.
